We headed up to Mill Creek Yurt (the same canyon where we'll be married) with our friends Rob, Rina, Mike, & Jen (+ dogs Duncan, Lucy, & Zelli) for two nights. We parked at the winter trailhead & skiied up (skinned, technically) 4.6 miles to reach the Yurt. There was beautiful fresh, deep snow...but that also made for some tougher travels. They usually they groom the track, but they hadn't yet. All in all, it took us 3.5 hrs, including a quick standing sandwhich break for lunch. We figure it probably snowed ~30 inches from the time we left & arrived back to the car...yep...heavenly!!! :) It was wierd to see blue sky after that!
Here's the Yurt as we arrived & settled in for the night...the dogs checking it out. It's all decked out with wood bunk beds, wood burning stove, table, fuel laterns, firewood, fresh stream running nearby, outhouse, etc...DELUXE!!!
The Yurt (& powder!!) by day. You can hardly tell, but there's a "moon roof" sky light at the point of the roof...all we saw was snow!! Note the roof of the outhouse to the right, crazy!
Right: A minute of sunshine, blue sky, & thickly covered trees
Left: Skinning up, taking turns breaking trail through DEEP snow=HARD WORK!!! And our tracks were gone the next day!
Evening fun at the Yurt included card games, wine, & even a bottle of whiskey (courtesy of Rob). Jeremy, Jen, & Mike (left) Rob & Rina (right)Snow fall accumulation in the morning
Jeremy catches some POW face shots just before heading home
A moose sighting on our way down the canyon

Zelli is all smiles for the Yurt experience! Pack & all!
A dense snow covered forest lines our path....pretty day! Go dogs go!
Yep the gang's all here! Hooray for a safe, fun, exciting trip! See you next time! Thanks everybody! We're beat..a shower would be SO nice! :)
