Bring on the snow: Yurt finale 2009

Well, wrapping up the Yurt season turned out to be a blast! We lucked out & had 2 reservations back to back...thus 4 nights & this time filled with almost a fresh foot of snow every day! Last week it was spring, 70 degrees seriously...well, winter is back! We are several of the few that are happy about it!

69 years old and still getting over 3000 vertical the old fashioned way.

Rina snowshoed a good part of the way up with us.

Yep, it's a cold snowing, blowing, hoods up kind of a day

This is about 15 miles from our house with a little sweat equity involved. Who would want to live in Utah anyway?

Stuck in the deep snow on the way out

Rob's "super hero" sunglasses he created...very nice!

Lucy girl snuggled up in the snow, always making a nest.

(Rob & Rina's dog)

Zelli zamboni, pushing around the POW!

Zelli's 9 yr. old birthday, on top of Little Water peak & loving it!

The trees were all gorgeously "rimed", winter wonderland

Jodi getting the goods.

Last run before heading home, a hint of sun.

Zelli needs a snorkel to sit around here, digging out the car to head home.

Looking forward to more Yurt adventures next year, come on out & join us!!!

Tim does SLC

Brother Tim was able to come on out to Utah to join us for some skiing. He was able to see & ski Alta for the first time & try backcountry touring from the Mill Creek Yurt! We didn't have any new snow for the visit, until the morning he left...go figure. It sure was great to get some more quality time together, mostly on skis too! Enjoy!
