Somehow we (or maybe I) thought it would be a good idea to embark on a 8-10 hr road trip to the Grand Canyon with a 2.5 yr old & 2 month old. Good news is we survived!!!, even had some fun, & the boys were good travelers! Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate real well, but we made the best of it & actually managed to stay pretty dry despite liquid sunshine every day. Here's some of what we saw & did:
Collin's first view of the canyon
Grab a family photo while we can
Torrential!!! downpour & hail that ensued for over 1 hour later that day
Collin hiking the Bright Angel trail down into the canyon
Loves to stop & sit on a rock for snack time, cute until he wants to sit on every rock!
Half way to our turn around point
Tunnel #2
Quite the crazy trail!
The morning clouds cleared for some good views
More rain on it's way
Checking out the sunset after waiting out the rain while swimming at the hotel
Impressive!!!
Gotta do it! They even had a camera stand in place for everyone to use!
Views of the Bright Angel trail
Storm marching across the canyon
Views of the Colorado river
Starting Micah early...
One of Collin's favorites...riding the bus!
Other highlights were chips & salsa for dinner (also one of Collin's favorites), seeing deer & elk, riding in the "fast car", & swimming! I think our road trips will now be under 5 hrs for good measure! Ahh, always fun memories no matter what happens! :)
